I Found Inspiration In The Dark.
When I was lying prone on the floor of my son’s bedroom, wishing him to fall asleep tonight so I could have an hour to myself downstairs, I had the inspiration for a creative challenge to set myself in May.
Inspiration doesn’t come in big bangs when brainstorming with a team for me; that usually does the opposite and stops me from thinking fluidly. It comes in quiet moments. It comes in dark or wet moments, the latter meaning the shower.
I understand that my brain needs to shift into its theta waves to get the good stuff.
My winning reframe for the end of the day when I want to wrestle my son to sleep is that actually, this is the best inspiration time. So I’ll try to lean into it a little easier now.
